Our Sustainable Infrastructure committee welcomes a new Vice Chairman in Mark Gehringer, PE, Director of Land Development for the Howard Hughes Corporation.
Heath Melton, our newest Chairman of the Board & Vice President of Master Planned Communities for The Howard Hughes Corporation, had this to say about Gehringer’s new role, “We are extremely fortunate and honored to have Mark Gehringer, PE, Director of Land Development for the Howard Hughes Corporation become the new Vice Chair for the Sustainable Infrastructure Committee. Mark leads the land development efforts in Bridgeland and has been instrumental in the communities success, recently named the #1 selling MPC in Houston and #11 in the Nation. Mark’s expertise and passion is a valuable asset to the West Houston Association as we continue our focus on Quality Planned Developments in the Greater Houston area.”
Gehringer has been involved with the Association for quite some time starting in early 2015. He along with 10 other young professionals, were the first class of our Rising Leaders Program. A program aimed to “create and grow a network of emerging leaders and mentors within the West Houston Association that will share information and access […] to make positive changes in West Houston.” After RL Class 1 graduation, Gehringer continued to get further involved with both the Quality Planned Development and Sustainable Infrastructure committees, paving the way to a leadership position. Gehringer is a valuable add to the Association and has always gone above and beyond by volunteering for events, videos and more.
“I am very grateful for Mark’s dedication and commitment to the Sustainable Infrastructure Committee over the past many years. I am looking very forward to working more closely with him in the years to come as our new Vice Chairman. Lot’s of great work accomplished, though a lot more work to do,” said Jim Russ, chairman of the committee.
