The Houston-Galveston Area Council just published their 2018 Mobility Report. The report shows a summary of important progress in the transportation and economic performance of the region. 92,000 people are said to have come to the region over the past year, with 108,000 jobs being created. All while people in the area continue to increase the average driving distance to 194 million miles daily. This report uses a number of new measures, including travel time reliability to quantify improving safety, congestion mitigation, economic competitiveness and more. Considering all of these factors and taking the right measurements was instrumental in decision making when creating the new 2045 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP).
