The West Houston Association celebrated the publication of the West Houston 2060 Plan with association members, committees and our public & elected officials. The reception was held September 11th, 2018 at the Westin – Memorial City. For over two years, our Board of Directors and individual committees have been looking at West Houston’s population and job growth projections up to the year 2060. With these projections they created a plan describing the infrastructure required to accommodate the changing and growing population needs of the region. The focus topics covered in the plan are representative of each of WHA’s 7 committees and each section aims tackle different challenges and opportunities the topic may encompass. Our event at The Westin – Memorial City showcased each of the different sections in the plan with informative display boards accompanied by a committee member to cover any questions or comments we received from the crowd. In addition to the print plan, our Rollout Event featured West Houston Association’s website version of the 2060 plan and had interactive screen grabs to display each sections page.
The association also took this time to thank our public officials for their service and continued collaboration on creating a better future for our region. With an evening of mingling and refreshments we made sure all in attendance had a seat at the table on sharing ideas. Officials in attendance include:
Thank you to all of WHA’s Board and Committee Members who have put in so much time and work for the development of a plan in order to better West Houston’s future. A special thank you to Crouch Environmental Services who volunteered to help with the interactive format of the reception. Each committee was able to have multiple points of contact with the crowd and elicit feedback in a multitude of formats. Another thank you to Halff Associates who worked diligently on the formatting of the printed version of the plan and creation of the individualized committee boards used at the event. WHA is fortunate to have so many dedicated members working to push forward our mission of improving the lives and working environment of the 1.7 million plus residents.
