At its September 27th Board Meeting, the West Houston Association appointed three new board members to fill vacancies. Rob Bamford, Vice President at Johnson Development Company and general manager of Cross Creek Ranch, will take over for out-going board member & JDC COO, Doug Goff. Dr. Lance Hindt, the incoming Superintendent at Katy ISD, will take the spot of his predecessor, Alton Frailey. Finally, Matt Schaefer, the new President of Texas Children’s Hospital West, is taking over as both WHA board member and Education and Workforce Development Committee.
Thanks to our outgoing board members, Chanda Chacon, Doug Goff, and Alton Frailey for their outstanding service. The West Houston Association is remarkably better off because of their service. Doug Goff was a valued member of the executive committee. Chanda Chacon and Alton Frailey were instrumental in establishing WHA’s Education and Workforce Development Committee. We wish all three the very best in their future endeavors.
We are pleased and honored to continue the tradition of excellence on WHA Board of Directors. Rob Bamford joined the Johnson Development Corporation as Vice President and General Manager of Cross Creek Ranch when Johnson Acquired Cross Creek Ranch from Trendmaker Homes. Prior to joining Johnson, Rob worked with Trendmaker Homes for over ten years and developed over 7300 lots in award winning communities all over Houston.
Dr. Lance Hindt was named as Katy ISD Superintendent of Schools in June 2016 and officially joined the school district on August 1, 2016. Prior to his appointment as Superintendent of Katy ISD, Dr. Hindt served as the Superintendent at Allen ISD. Under his leadership at Allen ISD, the school district earned numerous awards and recognitions. Dr. Hindt served as Superintendent of Schools for the Stafford Municipal School District from May 2011 until his appointment at Allen ISD. Dr. Hindt earned his doctorate from the University of Houston, his master’s degree from Prairie View A&M University and his undergraduate degree from William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Dr. Hindt is also a proud graduate of James E. Taylor High School in Katy ISD.
Matt Schaefer is Assistant Vice President of Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus. Prior to joining Texas Children’s Hospital, Matt was a consultant for the management consulting firm McKinsey & Company. Matt began his career as an engineer and project manager for Mide Technology Corporation, a small research & development engineering firm specializing in the automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing industries. Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University and his Masters of Business Administration from Rice University.
